Derived from the .220 Russian / 7.62×39 family through careful case shaping and necking to .22 caliber, the .22 BR emphasizes consistent combustion, excellent case life, and a predictable pressure curve—qualities that make it ideal for tight groups at 100 to 300 yards.

Ballistically, the .22 BR shines when loaded with match and high-BC varmint bullets in the 52- to 60-grain range.
