Load Notes: All loads were tested in a Smith & Wesson Model 657 with a 6½-inch barrel featuring a 1:18-inch twist and iron sights. New Remington cases, CCI No. 300 Large Pistol primers, an RCBS 3-Die Carbide Set, and an Area 419 ZERO Reloading Press were used throughout load development. Velocities were recorded using a Garmin Xero C1 Pro Doppler chronograph. All listed powder charges should be reduced by 10 percent when developing starting loads in other firearms. Accuracy was established by firing a single three-shot group for each load.
